Walmart, world’s largest employer, seeks to destroy more neighborhood stores

| Feb 28, 2014 | Walmart |

Walmart is the largest employer in the world and its employment practices have a great impact on many millions of people.  Having destroyed the mom and pop stores, Walmart is now going after neighborhood pharmacies like CVS and dollar stores like Dollar Tree according to news reports.  Walmart plans to open about 300 smaller stores it will call Neighborhood Markets and Walmart Express.  The expansion of Walmart’s already giant footprint will no doubt leave more workers and employees out in the cold when it comes to employment benefits, hourly wages, disability accommodations, family medical leave requests and other rights granted to workers under federal and state law.
