Experienced Business Tort Representation
In the early ’90s, the firm’s principal attorney, Howard Rutten, began his career as a law clerk to United States Bankruptcy Court Judge Leslie Tchaikovsky. His early practice involved representation of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in the liquidation and sometimes the operation of different types of businesses and real estate ventures. This involved the filing and prosecution of hundreds of lawsuits involving every type of claim imaginable. Many of these cases involved fraud and other types of misconduct. Mr. Rutten’s practice branched out over the years into varied business litigation and tort cases, including defamation, professional negligence, breach of contract, interference with business relationships, trade secret theft and other matters.
At The Rutten Law Firm, APC, we have the experience to represent our clients effectively in many types of business and tort disputes. We usually represent the plaintiff, and most of our clients have suffered a wrong at the hands of a greedy, unscrupulous individual or company. We pursue our cases aggressively, as if they were our own. In fact, we prefer to handle cases on a contingency fee basis, meaning we are paid nothing unless and until we win. We do this because we know what makes a strong case and we know how to strengthen your case. We often represent the underdog and have successfully taken on some of the largest corporations in the world.
Many disputes cannot be effectively solved without litigation. Sometimes the other side leaves you no choice. In that case, your interests must be served by strong legal representation. Litigation in our system is an adversarial process. We understand that. We are here to make sure your business or property interests come out of that process on the right side. We know that your victory must not be overshadowed by attorney’s fees and costs, which is one reason we prefer contingency arrangements. We are not afraid to invest the time and money required for our clients to win.
